Recently, I got a question from one of my students. It stated, "What precisely is pot probabilities and is Hold em pot probabilities method worth pursuing?"

One factor to remember, any kind of Hold em odds can and usually do obtain very confusing. Even so, let me break pot probabilities down in very straightforward terms. Please note that we are only discussing Pot Odds. Not outs, implied odds, easy probabilities or anything else like that.

In short, pot odds are the odds you get when determining the ratio of the quantity of money in the pot to the amount of money it's going to cost you to call the bet.

For example, let us say you are heads up with Player A. If there is 150 dollars in the pot after the flop and Player A places a $20 bet it is going to expense you only 13 percent of the pot to stay in the hand. If your likelihood of succeeding is greater than thirteen percent it is a no-brainer to call because you'd have excellent pot odds.

That's all there is to it definitely. Texas holdem pot probabilities boils down to one thing. If your chance of winning is much better than the ratio of the pot size to the wager then you've beneficial pot odds. If it is lower than you've bad pot odds.

One more thought about Hold'em pot probabilities. You are still wagering the gambler more so than something else. Bet on the player far more than your starting hands or the size of the chip stack and even, yes the pot probabilities.

If you'll be able to discover to read your opponents well you'll be able to utilize pot probabilities to help justify or solidify your determination. But Hold'em pot probabilities do not have to be an end all whenever you produce a poker decision.

Knowing and understanding how Holdem pot odds work is usually a useful and successful system. But again don't generate Holdem pot odds your only system.
